I have helped students and families since 2006 navigate the admissions process and feel confident about their efforts. As a former college counselor and education advisor for a large organization, a writing teacher, book editor, and parent of three, I have worked with students nationally and internationally to gain acceptance into top undergraduate and graduate universities. I believe every student has different strengths and learning styles. Together with the family, we create a strategic plan to maximize results. I meet with my students on a monthly to semi-monthly basis -"checking in" on our action plan and I communicate updates and progress with parents. Senior year students have more intense sessions focusing on their essays and applications. All resources and feedback on essays and applications are customized towards each student with the goal of "showcasing" the student's uniqueness. Many of my students have won scholarships because they "stood out" from other applicants. Finally, I think it's important to be approachable and have excellent communication lines throughout our relationship. I always welcome questions from parents and students.
As a former Stanford graduate, I work with the university to interview students, which I have done for over a decade. Since COVID, most of the interviews are now done remotely. An advantage of this program is that I will provide constructive feedback, so that you can be prepared and confident for the actual interview with your schools.
